Today, February 12, 2025, we visited two community groups: Sanitizer and Nyi Kisumu Women. The discussion focused on poultry farming and cash crop farming as viable economic activities for improving livelihoods.
During the meeting, we shared insights on how Kisumu West Aid CBO is committed to supporting vulnerable individuals in the community through various projects. We emphasized the importance of these agricultural practices in generating income and improving food security. The groups expressed interest in collaborating with our organization to enhance their farming activities and improve their economic stability.
The engagement was productive, and we look forward to further collaboration to ensure that these groups receive the nessesary skills for their projects
On 15th January 2025, COHESO visited one of our groups at our office to empower and train women in the water vending business while building their capacity to drive sustainable change. This initiative is part of a larger program targeting all 63 registered widow groups under our CBO across Kisumu and Siaya Counties.
The program is strategically aligned to address key areas, including food security, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), environmental conservation, climate change action, and household economic strengthening. By promoting sustainable livelihoods, this initiative not only empowers women economically but also fosters resilience within their households and communities.
